Washington – The wife of a guard of the active duty coast was arrested earlier this week by Federal immigration Authorities within the family residential section of the US Naval Air Station. In Key West, Florida, after it was marked in a routine security control, authorities said on Saturday.
“The spouse is not a member of the Coast Guard and was arrested for national security investigations in accordance with a legal removal order,” said Coast Guard spokesman, Lieutenant CMDR. Steve Roth in a statement confirming the arrest based on Thursday. “The Coast Guard works in close collaboration with HSI and others to enforce federal laws, even about immigration.”
According to an American official, the woman’s work visa expired around 2017, and was marked for the elimination of the United States a few years later. She and the Costa Guard married earlier this year, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an application incident.

The base staff contacted the Naval Criminal Investigation Service, which analyzed the matter, said the official. The security staff of NCIS and the Coast Guard obtained the permission of the commander of the base to enter the installation and then went to the house of the Costa Guard on Thursday, said the official. They were joined by national security research staff, a unit inside Immigration and Customs Control.
HSI finally stopped the spouse, and the official said he thinks he is still being arrested. The authorities did not provide the name of the country of what it is.
The Coast Guard sent questions about the identity of the woman, the state of immigration and the charges to ICE, which did not answer a request for comments on Saturday. The National Security Department also did not respond to a request for comments.
The husband of the arrested woman is a man of the coast assigned to the USCGC Mohawk, a 270 -feet long cut with headquarters in Key West. The couple was moving to the United States government housing at the nearby Naval Air Station.
An online database that tracks the movements of the ship shows that the Mohawk has been docked in its starting port since mid -March. A press release on March 16 says that the ship had recently returned after a 70 -day deployment in the Eastern Pacific Ocean on a mission to intercept illegal drug shipments.
In a statement, the Navy said that “it fully cooperated with the federal authorities of application of the law on this matter. We take safety and access to naval facilities.”
