Xiamen, China – Norwegian outstanding Karsten Warholm Improved in its unofficial world record in the 300 -meter obstacles when registering 33.05 seconds in the opening Diamond League Meeting on Saturday.

Warholm shaved 0.21 of his previous brand in Oslo in 2021, the same year he established the world record of 400 meters obstacles.

While it is not an Olympic event, 300 obstacles will soon become an official world record discipline, World Athletics recently announced.

“I was a little surprised how easy my legs felt out of the last curve,” Warholm said. “Of course you feel it a little at the end, but I really could push in the last 45 meters. This shows that the speed is there and the speed on the obstacles is there.”

The Faith Kipyegon Olympic champions (1,000 meters), Mondo Duplantis (pole jump), Yaroslava Mahuchikh (height jump), Beatrice Chebet (5,000) and Valarie Allman (Discus) also published victories.

In the 1,000, Kipyegon registered 2: 29.21 to enter a surprising distance from the Svetlana Masterkova world record of 2: 28.98 established in 1996.
