UCONN Domina Carolina del Sur 82-59 to capture its 12th title

Tampa, Florida – UConn is back at the top of female basketball, winning his 12th National Championship Enrutlation of the Carolina 82-59 defender champion on Sunday behind the 24 points of Azzi Fudd.

Sarah Strong added 24 points and 15 rebounds, while Paige Bueckers had 17 points in her last game in UConn (37-3).

Bueckers limited his star career with the first championship of the Huskies since 2016, ending a nine -year drought for the team. That was longer for coach Geno Auriemma and his Huskies since the team won its first championship in 1995 led by Rebecca Lobo.

Since then, the Huskies have had dominant races in the championship, even in the early 2000s led by Sue Bird and Diana Tauurasi, 2009-10 with Maya Moore and finally the four followed in 2013-16 with Breanna Stewart. Everyone attended in Florida on Sunday to see the last title of the Huskies.

The South Carolina team of Dawn Staley was trying for a third title in four and fourth in general. I would have tied it with Kim Mulkey for the third place behind Auriemma and the former coach of the Tennessee Hall of Fame, Pat Summitt, who had eight.
