The president of the European Union commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said Monday that he is ready to negotiate tariffs with Trump’s White House.
“In fact, we have offered zero tariffs for zero for industrial goods, as we have successfully done with many other commercial partners, because Europe is always ready for a good business,” he said.
“But we are also prepared to respond through countermeasures and defend our interests,” said Von der Leyen, although he emphasized that the EU “would prefer to have a negotiated solution.”
