Trump admin live updates: Vance says that Russia is asking for 'too much' to end the war with Ukraine

Trump celebrated a ceremony at the ceremony for David Purdue, his ambassador to China, at the Oval office on Wednesday. Trump praised Purdue, a former senator, for his past commercial experience for companies such as Reebok and Dollar General.

“Now I am trusting David to help administer one of the most complex and consequent foreign relations in the United States,” Trump said. “And I know that he will do a fantastic work as our main diplomat in Beijing. David will work to promote American interest and stability in the Indo-Pacific, help stop the avalanche of Chinese Fentanyl at our borders, what we have to do.”

Purdue’s sworn occurs when the administration prepares to meet with Chinese officials in commercial and economic matters. The secretary of the Treasury, Scott Besent, said that meetings will take place on Saturdays and Sundays.
