Anchorage, Alaska – Almost a year after the United States Coast Guard suspended the search for a Family of four missing After the boat, they were overturned in waters in the southern center of Alaska, the ship has been found along with the human remains, authorities said Wednesday.
The discovery occurred after three private companies in Alaska, including one that uses sound equipment to search for water, offered in April to help look for the family, which is from Texas, according to a statement published by the Alaska Public Security Department.
Earlier this month, they found the missing boat along with human remains in 180 feet (55 meters) of water in Kachemak Bay, near Homer, the department said.
The state divers were able to recover three series of remains of the sunk boat during the immersions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The family search was launched in August after a report arrived in which an aluminum boat of 28 feet (8.5 meters) that transported eight people had begun to assume the water, said the United States Coast Guard at that time. The Coast Guard notified other ships in the area of the situation, and a nearby boat rescued four people.
The Coast Guard toured Kachemak Bay and Alaska’s search and rescue teams tried to use sound equipment to find the family, according to the State Public Security Department. But they were not successful the next night, the search was suspended.
Christi Wells, who provided a statement on behalf of Mary Maynard’s parents at that time, said the family enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and traveling, according to The Anchorage Daily News. Mary Maynard was an itinerant nurse and David Maynard stayed home with the children and had a lawn care business, he said.
