Arlington, Texas – The manager of the Dodgers of Los Angeles, Dave Roberts, welcomed Shohei Ohtani to his alignment on Sunday, speculating that the “dad’s strength” could lead to the unprecedented exit speed of the already imposing bat of the two -way star.
Instead, Roberts said Ohtani seemed “a little anxious”, going 0 by 3 with a walk in the 1-0 victory of the Dodgers over the Texas Rangers.
Ohtani, 30, was activated outside the paternity list after his wife gave birth to The first child of the couple in southern California and hit his usual initial place.
The eighth entrance walk of Ohtani helped produce the lonely race of the game. Pellizco Beatador Will Smith advanced to the second base. Smith moved to the third in a flight ball to the right garden hit by Mookie Betts and scored a sacrifice fly to the left garden by Freddie Freeman.
The Dodgers took the two games to one, both victories were bleached. Sunday’s victory arrived with six relieved following Tyler Glasnow, who left a launch in the fifth entrance with cramps at the bottom of the leg.
Ohtani, who arrived in Texas on Saturday night, did not add up to journalists before or after the game.
Roberts characterized Ohtani’s approach on the plate as “too aggressive.”
“Having two days off, I think today has just arrived a little anxious.” Roberts said.
Roberts added that he saw no sign that the night arrival affected Ohtani.
“I think it was good,” Roberts said. “It really doesn’t show too much as a kind of energy. It comes on the same day.”
Before the game, Roberts now said that Ohtani is a father, wait for some output speeds of “dad force.”
“Dad’s strength is real,” Roberts said. “It’s surprising how hard Shohei hits the ball now. So now that he is a father, you could see about 120 velos of exit.”
Roberts said he has seen the players benefit in general from fatherhood.
“Some of the attributes of being dad I think they translate into the baseball field,” he said. “That will not sweat small things, understanding what is more important and I think I have seen our players evolve in how they look at life and baseball as they become parents.”
Ohtani appeared in all the previous 20 games in Los Angeles, he is hitting .277 with six homers and 21 races scored.
“I am very grateful to my beloved wife (former 28 -year -old professional basketball player, Mamiko Tanaka) who gave birth to our healthy and beautiful daughter,” Ohtani wrote on Instagram on Saturday. “For my daughter, thanks for putting very nervous but super anxious parents.”
