The United States detected and tracked Russian military aircraft that entered the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone on Monday, said the United States Army.
Adiz is an area that extends to 150 miles from the US territory, where the United States requires planes to have their transfers on or identify.
“This Russian activity in Alaska Adiz occurs regularly and is not seen as a threat,” said the North America Aerospace Defense Command in a press release.
On Monday there was no interception, the army said, he added that Norad tracked the plane while flying through the Adiz without entering the American or Canadian airspace.
The territorial airspace of the United States and the waters begin 12 nautical miles from the coast.
