Cristiano Ronaldo’s time could be done at the Saudi Al-Nassr Arabia Club.
The 40 -year -old Portugal striker Posted a message In social networks hours after the final round of the Saudi Professional League on Monday night causing speculation about the future of one of the most high profile figures in sports.
“This chapter is over,” Ronaldo told his 115 million followers in X, about a photo of him in an Al-Nassr shirt. “History is still written. Grateful to all.”
The five-time world player of the year joined Al-Nassr at the end of 2022 and his contract will expire at the end of June.
On Saturday, the president of FIFA, Gianni Said Infantino Ronaldo could play in the New and Expanded Club World Cup from June 14 due to a single transfer window created for the tournament.
“There are discussions with some clubs,” Infantino told Streamer online Isshowspeed, whose YouTube channel has more than 39 million subscribers. “Then, if a club is looking and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup, who knows. A few weeks will be fun.”
Al-Nassr, who ended third in the Saudi League this season, did not qualify for the Club World Cup, where Lionel Messi, Ronaldo’s great rival, will play with Inter Miami.
Ronaldo did not react on Saturday to Infantino’s speculation in his social media channels.
