Pet reindeer sacrificed after someone manipulated the pen, possibly poisoned him

Anchorage, Alaska – An iconic pet reindeer loved by many in the largest city in Alaska has been sacrificed, only weeks later Someone manipulated with his cage and possibly poisoned him, His caregiver said Wednesday.

“I do not have an answer of why it had to be discouraged apart from that it relates to what happened,” said Albert Whitehead, who worried not only for the 8 -year reindeer called Star, but also for the tradition of decades of having a reindeer in the center of Anchorage.

Star lived in a fenced pen attached to Whitehead’s house on a busy street on the edge of the center. But from the beginning of January, someone began to manipulate the kind reindeer and their pen.

A person entered the pen in January and Star began to lose weight. In February, someone cuts the locks of the pen doors and Star wandered through the streets of the center. The next night, someone sprayed some kind of substance in the Star pen.

Previously, Whitehead avoided thinking that this person could have poisoned the star, but now he doesn’t know.

Star had a persistent cough after February incidents and then developed pneumonia. It was believed that the content of his stomach was approaching through his nose, and the star respiration that matters in his lungs caused him pneumonia.

It is possible that Star ate a plastic bag when he wandered around the center of the city, which could cause indigestion problems and chronic weight loss.

He was cured of pneumonia, but he developed a second fight.

The results will not be known for a few weeks about the possible cause of death or contributing factors, said Whitehead.

There have been pet reindeer housed in the center of Anchorage since the 1950s. This particular star was the seventh in the line to live with Anchorage Pioneers Gold and Ivan Stewart or Whitehead after she took care of the Stewarts in 2002.
