Oklahoma.i start – The Oklahoma Sooners can face their most difficult path, since they are looking for a fifth record championship of the Women’s World Series.
The second sowed sooners will open on Thursday against Karlyn Pickens and the sown No. 7 Tennessee.
In the second regional game, Pickens unleashed a launch that traveled a NCAA record 79.4 miles per hour. Oklahoma coach Patty Gasso, the US team coach who took the Sooners to eight national titles, has not seen anything like that.
“It’s quite surprising, actually,” he said, “he is establishing a new standard.”
Gasso did not give how his team is preparing for Pickens, but said the Sooners expect the confrontation. She said the pickens launch speed is an example of the evolution of sport.
“It’s great for our game,” he said. “It’s phenomenal … So it’s a challenge for Sooners, without a doubt, but that is what led us here. We love challenges.”
Oklahoma counteracts with a formidable offensive led by a couple of second -year students, she Parker and Kasidi Pickering, who are hitting over .400. Oklahoma is the second nationwide with 115 homers and fifth with 7.75 races per game.
“We know we have an incredible opponent on Thursday, and we just want to put our best foot forward here,” said Tennessee coach Karen Weekly.
In addition to the difficulty of Oklahoma’s mission, the four teams on their side of the group are from the SEC: Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Florida.
The third seed of Florida and the sown No. 6 Texas will open the action on Thursday. Texas was a national runner -up last season and Florida reached the semifinals.

The first part of the event is the double elimination. The two final teams will play for the title in a series of the best of three from June 4.
Gasso was not sure that his team had the opportunity to win the League in the season.
“If you asked me in October, I would say, man, I hope we finish in the middle of the pack in the SEC,” he said. “I didn’t know, nor any of us.”
Florida’s coach Tim Walton recalls having spoken with Gasso after Oklahoma secured the title of the conference regular season.
“I congratulated her on the plate,” he said. “And she looked at me and she said:” We? Because he certainly didn’t feel that way. “I think it’s a pretty good appointment.
