Ohio State's female basketball coach accused of driving with disabilities

Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State Women’s Basketball coach Kevin McGuff, the 2024 coach of Big Ten, was accused of operating a vehicle while affected last week, police said.

The officers said McGuff hit several curbs and led to a patio, where he was found behind the steering wheel on May 6 in the Dublin suburb of Columbus, according to an arrest report. McGuff refused to give a sample of breath, police said.

McGuff has taken Ohio State to eight appearances in the NCAA tournament in 12 seasons and a Big Ten title in the 2023-2024 season. He previously trained in Washington and Xavier and has a professional record of 479-212.

Ohio’s state issued a statement saying that he was aware of the position.

“The department is in communication with coach McGuff and monitoring the situation closely,” the statement said. “This is a continuous personal legal issue, and the department will share additional information at the appropriate time.”
