Sioux Falls, SD – Brooklyn Meyer scored 16 points and the state of South Dakota No. 25 achieved an 87-67 victory over Omaha on Thursday in the Summit League Tournament, giving the Jackrabbits 57 consecutive victories over the opponents of the conference.
The state of Dakota del Sur, which beat the Mavericks for 38 and 30 points in the regular season, plays in Saturday’s semifinal against the winner of the quarterfinals of Friday between the sown No. 4 St. Thomas and North Dakota number 5.
The Jackrabbits have gone through three undefeated regular seasons in the League games and have won the last two tournaments.
Paige Meyer and the Madysen Vlastuin reserve scored 12 points for the state of South Dakota (27-3), seed number 1 for the fifth consecutive season. Madison Mathiowetz and Haleigh Timmer added 11 to help Jackrabbits win their 17th consecutive in general. His three defeats went to Duke, Georgia Tech and Now-No. 1 Texas.
Grace Cave scored 20 points for the eighth mavericks sown (14-17). Ja Harvey added 17 and Aaliyah Moore had 12.
The Jackrabbits led 21-16 after a room and used a 10-0 race in the middle of the second to build an advantage of 39-24 in the half time. The lead remained in double figures the rest of the road.
