College Station, Texas – Zhuric Phelps scored 19 points from the bank and No. 22 Texas toANDM never lost an 83-72 victory over Auburn better classified Tuesday night.
It is Texas UnANDM first victory over a team occupied number 1 in the Top 25 AP survey and ends a six -game winning streak for the tigers, which obtained the title of the Southeast Conference with a victory over Kentucky on Saturday.
Texas aANDM (21-9, 10-7 Sec) denied Auburn (27-3, 15-2) a record of the undefeated conference after the Tigers entered the 9-0 game in the SEC road games this season.
The Aggies, who broke a skate of four games throughout the season, led by two digits for most of the night and had 12 years with about two minutes for Tahaad Pettiford to make a triple to obtain Auburn within 79-70. But Phelps made two free throws to extend the leadership.
Pettiford made three triples in less than two minutes before the second half to boost a race that led the Tigers at six, but Wade Taylor IV had a three-point play that began a 5-0 race that pushed aANDThe advantage of m to 62-51.
Pettiford led Auburn with 19 points, including six triples.
