Los Angeles – The Los Angeles County District prosecutor said Friday that his office will not present positions of sexual assault against the film producer David GuillodMore than four years after his arrest.
Nathan Hochman district prosecutor said in a statement that there were not enough evidence to prove a case against Guillod beyond a reasonable doubt.
The announcement occurred almost three years after a judge rejected similar charges against Guillod in Santa Barbara County.
An email looking for comments from a lawyer who has represented Guillod was not responded immediately. Guillod has denied all accusations.
Guillod, talent and producer manager whose credits include “Atomic Blonde” of 2017 and “extraction” of 2020, was originally arrested in 2020 and accused of rape and sexual aggression that involved six women between 2014 and 2020 in the counties of Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. The authorities chose to prove the cases together in Santa Barbara County, where a judge at a preliminary hearing of 2022 determined that there was not enough evidence for Guillod to be trial for charges that involve four of the women.
The judge found that there was enough evidence to move forward with the positions that an actor had assaulted in 2012 and a waitress in 2018, but because both were in Los Angeles County, Santa Barbara prosecutors no longer had jurisdiction and sent the cases to the Los Angeles district prosecutor.
“The accusations imply deeply worrying and worrying behavior, and we empathize with the pain and trauma that the accusers have experienced throughout this long investigation process,” said Hochman’s statement.
Hochman’s office also recently refused to present charges against Marilyn Manson After another year of research.
Guillod had been among the people investigated by a Working Group formed by former District Prosecutor Jackie Lacey In 2017 to investigate inappropriate sexual behavior in Hollywood when the #MeToo movement caught national attention. The vast majority of cases they considered did not lead to charges.
An exception was the cinema tycoon Harvey Weinsteinwho was convicted of sexual rape and aggression in Los Angeles in 2022. He is appealing the convictions.
