New York – A former teenage fashion model that testifies in Harvey Weinstein The new trial for positions of sexual assault faced the stand on Tuesday with a private newspaper where defense lawyers say they wrote about people who sexually abused her.
As one of Weinstein’s lawyers, he began to question her about the handwritten newspaper, Kaja Sokola He protested that it should not be discussed in an open court, since he had written it as part of a substance abuse treatment program for years.
“This is very inappropriate,” he begged when the lawyer began to cite portions of the text, which according to them was originally written in Polish in 2015. “Please do not read that. These are my personal things. I am not in trial here.”
Judge Curtis Farber dismissed the jury for lunch when Sokola began to get excited.
He later assured him that he would allow the jury to listen to limited questions around the document. The judge also said that he had concerns about the integrity and authenticity of the magazine, wondering how defense lawyers had obtained what seems to be private medical records.
“This could be greatly counterproductive,” Farber said in a moment, since prosecutors also firmly opposed the inclusion of the magazine as evidence in the trial. “That is the risk they are willing to run.”
Sokola, who is now 39 -year -old psychotherapist, continued backward. His testimony was expected to resume Tuesday afternoon after lunch.
“This is not very ethical,” he insisted with the judge. “I would never do this to my patient, and I would never do this to myself.”
Michael Cibella, one of Weinstein’s lawyers, told Farber that the defense team intends to question Sokola in a part of the newspaper where he describes at least five sexual assaults he has suffered during his life.
Weinstein, they say, is not among those he named, although he appears in another part of the magazine. They say she refers to her frustration and disappointment after a “Harvey W” has taken her, “promising me” but “nothing left that.”

Some of those accusations are beyond the legal time limit for criminal charges, but Weinstein faces a criminal sexual position for Sokola’s claim that forced oral sex in 2006.
