Los Angeles – Los Angeles (AP) – Gustavo Dudamel He will perform Walkner’s “Die Walküre” concert performances at a culminating point of his 17th and last season as the musical director of Los Angeles Filarmonicos.
He will direct an act by presentation from May 19 to 21 and repeat the programs from May 22 to 24 with a cast that includes Christine Goerke and Ryan Speedo Green, said the orchestra on Thursday by announcing a 2025-26 season that calls “thanks Gustavo.” The scenic design will be Frank Gehry, Walt Disney Hall’s architect.
Dudamel will carry out “Harmonium” by John Adams and “Cantata Criolla” by Antonio Estévez from June 5 to 7, 2026, in his final concerts in Disney Hall as musical director. Dudamel chose the works to honor their Venezuelan and American identities.
The orchestra will lead in its Hollywood Bowl 2026 season before Starting as musical director of the New York Philharmonic in 2026.
The Los Angeles season begins on September 25 with Dudamel and a world premiere of a job currently without a title for orchestra and choir of the winner of the Pulitzer Ellen Reid prize that was commissioned with the New York Philharmonic.
Take the orchestra on a tour of Seoul, South Korea; Tokyo; and Taipei, Taiwan, from October 20 to 30.
