Miami – Tristan Vukcevic had 28 points and 11 rebounds, Justin Champagnie added 27 points and Bub Carrington accumulated in a winner of the game when time expired to put the Washington Wizards on the Miami Heat 119-118 on Sunday at the end of the regular season of both teams.
Carrington had 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
Jaime Joquez Jr. scored a maximum of 41 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for Miami, and Keshad Johnson and Josh Christopher had 17 points each.
Miami is already locked in the tenth place at the Eastern Conference and will play an elimination game against Chicago, sown No. 9, Wednesday.
Colby Jones also had 20 for the Wizards, who won only two of their last 10 games of the season.
Wizards: With a sad season, coach Brian Keefe was proud of the work that his young list made during his 18-64 campaign, noting that “we have had many guys, not only our younger boys, they grew greatly this year.”
Heat: Some reservations extended minutes with Miami resting BAM Adebayo and Tyler Herro, and several other regular customers with persistent injuries.
The heat led by one with five remaining seconds when Christopher received an entrance pass and entered the back track, giving the ball to Washington. Carrington made the winner of the game on the next play.
With its beginning on Sunday, Carrington became the first rookie of the Wizards to appear in the 82 games in a season from Jeff Ruland (1981-82). Carrington, 19, also joined Luka Doncic as the only players in the history of the NBA to register at least 300 assists and 100 triples before turning 20.
The Miami-Chicago winner travels to face No. 8 Atlanta or No. 7 Orlando for the seventh seed in the playoffs. The Wizards will prepare for this summer’s NBA draft, where they have a good opportunity to select number 1 in general.
