A suspect carried out an “atrocious” attack against a pedestrian shopping center in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday afternoon, leaving several injured people, including some that seemed to have potentially mortal injuries.
While the details were not clear immediately, the police said the attack occurred where a pro-Israel demonstration was being made and that the injuries were consistent with burned people. A suspect was arrested without incident, police said.
The director of the FBI, Kash Patel, said that officials were investigating the incident as a “directed terrorist attack.”
“Our agents and the Local Police are already on the scene, and we will share updates as there is more available information,” Patel said.
Police in Boulder, Colorado, is responding to an attack at the Pearl Street Mall that, they say, left several victims. A suspect was arrested, police said.

The Pro-Israel demonstration was a career for his life, with the aim of raising awareness about the remaining hostages in Gaza. The organization organizes global events of Run and Walk, “asking for the immediate launch of the hostages in the hands of Hamas,” according to their website.
Leo Terrell, head of the Anti -Semitism Task Force in the Department of Justice, said a “incendiary device” was thrown to the participants in the walk of life.
“This was not an isolated incident,” Terrell continued. “This anti -Semitic terrorist attack is part of a wave of horrible and growing violence aimed at Jews and their supporters simply for being Jews or defending Jewish life,” he said.
The attack occurred on the eve of a Jewish vacation, Shavuot, “making it even more chilling and cruel,” said Terrell.
A spokesman for the organization, Miri Kornfeld, told ABC News that five people were burned, including an old woman whose clothes caught fire. The Boulder police did not have an exact number of victims, their conditions or how they were injured.
Kornfeld, who was not in the event when the attack occurred, said that a man who directed the walk described the scene as “the floor burning under them.”
All the next race events for their lives have been canceled to an additional warning, Kornfeld said.
President Donald Trump has been informed about the “directed terrorist attack,” said a tall White House official to ABC News.
The governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, called for the attack an “atrocious act of terror.”

“The acts full of hate of any kind are unacceptable. While details arise, the State works with the Local and Federal Police to support this investigation,” Polis wrote in X.
Boulder police, while calling the attack as a “tragedy” and “unacceptable”, was not yet at the point of labeling it, said Chief Stephen Redfearn.
The incident occurred just before 1:30 pm on Sunday at the intersection of 13th Street and Pearl Street.
Police responded to a man’s reports with a weapon and that people were being burned.
When they arrived, there were several victims on the scene with injuries consistent with Burns, police said. The police were still investigating how injuries occurred, according to Redfearn.
Police said the scene has been contained, but has evacuated the Broadway area to the west, Pine Street to the North and 16th Street to the East and Walnut Street to the South.
The scene was not sure yet, Redfearn said.
While the police say that it is too early to speculate on the reason for the suspect, the attack in Boulder arrives at a time of greater violence, including high profile incidents against the Jewish community.
Last month, two employees of the Israeli embassy were shot dead in Washington, DC, in what was labeled as an “act of terror.”
The shooting caused outrage and has been convicted as an “indescribable” act of anti -Semitism after officials said the suspect, which is in custody, shouted “free and free Palestine” after the shooting.
In April, the residence of the governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, was attacked by a incendiary who allegedly made two Molotov cocktails of the Heineken bottles he had at home and threw them into the governor’s mansion after breaking a window with a hammer, according to judicial documents.
The attack occurred after the governor had published about the celebration of Easter with his family.
