Rome – Aryna Sabalenka, better classified, defended himself from a set against Sofia Kenin to advance in the Italy Open on Sunday.
Kenin, American number 31, won the first set of the Third Round match in Rome 6-3, but Sabalenka returned to take the next two sets with the same score.
The United States Open champion Sabalenka will play Marta Kostyuk Ukrainian in the next round.
Coco Gound was playing Magda Linette later on Sunday at the female raffle.
On the male side, Carlos Alcaraz was playing Laslo Djere and defending champion Alexander Zverev was playing the Lithuanian qualifier Vilius Gaubas.
