Glasgow, Scotland – Aberdeen denied Celtic a triple and secured his first triumph of the Scottish Cup in 35 years after an extra time of Hampden Park on Saturday.
Bulgaria’s goalkeeper, Dimitar Mitov, starred in saving two penalties in a 4-3 shooting victory after a 1-1 draw.
Mitov kept the first kick in Callum McGregor and denied Alistair Johnston, while Aberdeen players produced a perfect set of sanctions.
The error of goalkeeper Celta Kasper Schmeichel of 83 minutes canceled a goal of Alfie Dorrington. Dorrington’s unfortunate goal gave Celtic the leadership six minutes before the end of a first half torn, but Schmeichel made a disaster of dealing with a cross and gave life to Aberdeen in the game.
Celtic hit the carpentry twice, but could not find a winner and McGregor was crying after the shooting prevented Celtic from making sure a sixth triplet in nine seasons.
The fourth final victory of the Scottish Cup of Aberdeen on Celtic emulated the 1990 team that beat the hoops in an epic shooting.
The triumph also assured that Jimmy Thelin’s first season, since Aberdeen Boss was a great success despite the recent disappointments. The Dons coincided with Celtic in the first 11 games of the League, but their shape collapsed spectacularly and finally ended fifth after losing their last five games.
They also granted 19 goals in five meetings with Celtic and Thelin, who did not have Jamie McGrath or Jeppe Okkers on their team, aligned with five on the back in an attempt to keep things tight.
