North Cascades National Park, Washington – Three climbers of Seattle’s suburb died in an autumn during the weekend in North Cascades National Park, Sheriff’s officials said.
Sheriff’s staff and county search and rescue volunteers responded to the accident on Sunday morning to about 16 miles (26 kilometers) west of Mazama in an area of rock formations that are popular among the climbers, said the Sheriff’s office of Okanogan County County in a social media post on Monday.
A Four Renton Festival was involved in the fall while descending a steep in the North Early Winters Spire area. The post said three people died in the place and the fourth person liberated and asked for help.
A helicopter rescue team from the nearby Snohomish County helped recover the bodies of the technical and mountainous terrain.
The failure of anchor while the rappel is the alleged cause of the accident, said the post. An investigation is ongoing.
