2 rescued after Long Island's plane accident: officials

Two people were rescued on Sunday morning after a private Piper PA-32 plane in which they were on board crashed in Long Island’s sound near a Connecticut airport, according The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the United States Coast Guard.

The accident occurred at 10:30 am to the south of the Tweed New Haven airport in New Haven, Connecticut, according to FAA.

The Coast Guard Station, New Haven, sent a 45 -foot boat to the scene after the Sound Sound Sector Long Island command received a notification of the air traffic control tower that the plane fell into the hesitas of the fingers about Branford, Connecticut.

“The two people aboard the plane were rescued and in stable conditions,” said the Coast Guard in a statement to ABC News.

The two occupants rescued from the plane were taken to the Stony Creek dock in Branford, where emergency medical service workers took care of their attention, according to the Coast Guard.

FAA is investigating the incident.
