At least two people were killed, including a police officer, in a shooting at Baldwin Park, California, said Sheriff’s department of Los Angeles County.
A suspect was arrested after the shooting, in which two officers were hit by shots, one fatally, said Sheriff Robert G. Luna at a midnight press conference. He described the shooting as a “double homicide”, saying that the second victim, who was not publicly identified, was a male adult.
The offers of the Baldwin Park Police Department had responded to a call from a person “shooting with a rifle,” said Luna.
The injured officer was transferred to a local hospital in stable condition, said the Sheriff.
