Las Vegas – There was a shooting on Friday afternoon inside a gym, killing two people and hurting at least three others, Las Vegas police said.
A person died when shots exploded at the Las Vegas Athletic Club on the west side of the city, said sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, Andrew Walsh.
There was no longer a threat to the public, Walsh said. A strong police presence aligned along North Rainbow Boulevard was seen.
In a publication on social networks, the police said that the suspect in the shooting was confirmed dead in a local hospital. Three people who were injured were transported to local hospitals, with one in a critical condition, said a police department spokesman at a press conference.
The authorities said they are still investigating a reason.
“They said to leave, leave, leave,” Claudio Vigani, a witness who was in the gym when the shooting began, Customs Class TV. “Then I saw the dead boy next to the machine.”
Associated Press could not reach Athletic Club to comment. The University Medical Center confirmed that he received four patients, with one in a critical condition.
